A native Texan who grew up in Richardson and graduated from J.J. Pearce High School, Dr. Mobarak earned his Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with honors from Baylor University. Dr. Mobarak then attended Barry University in Florida to graduate with a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He completed his surgical residency at the Central Alabama VA in the areas of Intense Limb Salvage and Foot and Ankle Trauma. While in Alabama, he performed many foot and ankle surgeries, with specialization in trauma, reconstruction, limb salvage, and wound care. Dr. Mobarak’s extensive knowledge of podiatry and hands on experience working with patients makes him one of the best at treating pediatric, senior and sports injuries.

American professional wound care associationDr. Mobarak is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association and board certified in wound care, as well as foot reconstruction. He is also trained in hyperbaric oxygen treatment. As an adjunct faculty member at both Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, and Greenville Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, Dr. Mobarak teaches his surgical residents the newest and most effective techniques in foot and ankle surgery.

One area in which Dr. Mobarak is particularly adept is nerve release. He completed an intense surgical course in treating numbness, tingling, and Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. He provides a treatment that can allow patients to walk the next day after surgery and results in decreased pain after surgery.

Dr. Reza Mobarak, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA is known for his extensive knowledge of wound care, limb salvage, and foot and ankle trauma treatments. His medical residency specifically focuses on diabetic limb salvage and wound care. As a result, patients come from all over the DFW Metroplex, across the State and throughout the region to Southwest Foot and Ankle Center. They know they can trust their wounds to Dr. Mobarak because he has already treated so many patients (both surgically and non-surgically), saving their limbs from amputation.

Sharing Medical Knowledge Locally and Globally

Combining his knowledge of foot surgery with his love of teaching, Dr. Mobarak is an avid lecturer. He speaks at national events on topics including advanced wound care, diabetic limb salvage, hyperbaric medicine, foot pain and ankle trauma. He serves on the infectious disease committee at the Medical Center of Plano. He also writes in medical journals emphasizing on wound care and limb salvage.

He has even traveled to the Middle East to teach other doctors about limb salvage and hyperbaric oxygen. Dr. Mobarak hopes to set up a limb salvage program there in the future, to help prevent loss of limbs.

Locally, Dr. Mobarak volunteers his time to the community, enjoys bodybuilding, auto racing, and traveling. He also coaches his son and others in Greco Roman and Freestyle wrestling.


Dr. BerkeyDr. Steven F. Berkey has been in private practice since August 1980, all the while located in Plano, Texas, where he married and raised his 3 children. Before moving to Texas, Dr. Berkey spent his under-graduate years at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh. Upon an accelerated and expedited graduation after only 3 years of college as a Chemistry major, Dr. Berkey moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he attended the prestigious Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, which is now named the Temple School of Podiatric Medicine.

Upon graduation, Dr. Berkey moved to Dallas, Texas, where he completed his surgical residency in podiatric surgery right here in Dallas, Texas. He is currently Board Certified in Foot Surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Over recent years, Dr. Berkey has gained additional recognition, education, and training in the following areas, including, but not limited to: training and certification in endoscopic heel surgery, laser surgery using the CO2 and the pulse dye laser techniques, diagnostic ultrasound, minimally invasive foot surgery as indicated, as well as cosmetic foot procedures, for example, narrowing the width of one’s foot. He is an expert in bunionectomies, hammertoe arthroplasties, heel spur removal; plantar fascia treatment and surgery, both Joplin and Morton’s neuromas, ingrown toenails, plantar warts, as well as ALL foot and ankle problems, including soft tissue, skin and bones.

Dr. Berkey earned his initial board certification in 1984 by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and has since been able to renew that board certification twice through ongoing podiatric and orthopedic education. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.

Dr. Berkey is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, the Dallas County Podiatric Medical Association, as well as other local organizations for charity and non-profit.

Dr. Berkey enjoys (really loves) running, reading, bicycling, and is an avid fan of the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Cowboys. Dr. Berkey (or “Dr. Steve” – as some patients call him) has been married to his lovely bride since 1980, and is the proud father of three wonderful, grown children; Jami, his daughter, married to Richard and the wonderful mother of 3 beautiful grandchildren, Benjamin, Jacob, and Annabelle; Tracy, his oldest son, is a practicing urologist in Sarasota, Florida; and Adam, currently a college student, hoping to aspire to and follow in Dad’s footsteps.

Dr. Jacoby is a native Floridian who graduated from the University of Florida Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree of applied Physiology and Kinesiology. As a student Athletic Trainer she was a part of the 2006 Florida Football National Championship team and developed a deeper passion for sports medicine. Dr. Jacoby continued her educational training at Barry University for Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida where she was able to volunteer for major events such as the Miami Marathon and World Golf Classic- Cadillac Championship. Upon graduation from Podiatry School with honors, she was selected by faculty and clinical staff to receive the American Board of Podiatric Medicine award for excellence in Podiatric Medicine exhibiting high standards of professional conduct, probity, academic achievement and moral rectitude. She went on to complete a three year surgical and medical residency at West Houston Medical Center in Houston, Texas where she was privileged to hold the position of Chief Resident her senior year.

Dr. Jacoby is a Podiatrist that specializes in congenital, traumatic and long standing deformities of the foot and ankle. She is a member of American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Texas Podiatric Medical Association. She believes in multi-therapeutic approach and aims for her patients to get back to their daily active routine pain free.
